Thanks to the sports world, the residents of Calella have learned not only to compete but above all, to jointly participate and learn firsthand the importance of effort and perseverance - two key factors to meet new challenges.
Therefore, it is not surprising that this city, named "Calella - the city of European sport of 2016" ACES Europe, today has become an important center of pilgrimage for athletes from all over the world who see in Calella the basis for training, where you can prepare for swimming competitions or Olympic games!
If sports are made up of people, then each of them is a separate story! About every athlete involved in sports events taking place in Calella, there is always something to tell. The film "At 100 Meters", shot in 2015 in the city of Calella by director Marcel Barren reveals the story of Ramón Arroyo, a swimmer who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at the age of 30.
